
| NPRI News in Brief by Judy Cresanta NATIONAL RADIO SYNDICATION NPRIs National Perspectives was launched July 1, 1998 on 535 stations from Maine to Hawaii to Alaska. The Washington Times National Weekly Edition has agreed to sponsor the commentaries nationwide. Board members Jamie Clark and Bruce James are assisting in locating other national corporate sponsors. WELCOME, VERONIKA Veronika Leal, from Kyrgyzstan in Central Asiapart of the former Soviet Unionhas joined NPRI as an administrative assistant and Internet specialist. In America since May of 1997, Veronika is 28, married and has a Master of Science degree in Russian langauge and literature. POLITICALLY INCORRECT Staffers for the ABC Television program Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher contacted NPRI for possible consultation, collaboration and participation for a week-long series of programs in Las Vegas in November of this year. D. Dowd Muska forwarded programming ideas and a menu of prospective guests to appear on the show. SPIRIT CAVE MUMMY D. Dowd Muska was contacted by two documentary production companiesone from Great Britain, one from the U.S.regarding his article on the Spirit Cave Mummy [see "Scalping Science," Nevada Journal, February, 1998]. The controversy centers on the dispute between Native Americans and legitimate scientific investigation of the archeological find.
